@First-light I've noticed that those in England arrested for thought and speech crimes are put on trial and convicted very, very rapidly. That suggests to me that these are show trials and conviction is predetermined.

Then note how long it has taken to sentence a man to 2 years in jail for winding his dog lead round his hand at a protest about the murder and the way the police handled it. The British court and prison system are backed up months but for the upper tier it can be shortened right down.

When there were race riots in London a few years back because a notorious black drug dealer was shot by police for having a gun in his car that he appeared to be reaching for, they never got through everyone who smashed the shops up.
