A very holy, happy Christmas to you and all those dear to you. We would like to begin, today, by expressing our deepest gratitude to all of you for your support and encouragement throughout this year. As we know, it has been an exhausting one on almost every front, from politics to the culture in general and most especially, the Church. And specifically regarding the Church, we'd like to appeal to your generosity once again as the year comes to an end, to please donate to our work here at Church Militant, St. Michael's Media. We've provided a donation link for your convenience.

The Church is in a horrible state right now. We all know this. Anyone with a pulse recognizes this. What we are witnessing almost every day, in new and more terrible ways, is the culmination of decades and decades of treachery, and, yes, it stretches back to way before Vatican II. The post-council era has certainly accelerated the crisis, no doubt — but it would be naive to think this all came about sort of out of the blue.

But for those who are dumbstruck at the horror, it can seem that way, certainly. This is why the role Church Militant plays in these days is so vital to support. People can not only fall off the ship on the left; they can also fall off the right side. Schism exists as well as heresy.

The faithful must guard against both, and they must guard against each with great diligence. From our first days, this apostolate has always sought to fight the corruption by exposing it, while also guarding against overreaction to it. There are many ways to leave the Church but only one way to remain in Her.

As the glorious feast of Christmas now descends on the world, we'd like to take this moment to wish all of you a holy, blessed Christmas from all of us here at Church Militant!

Thank you for all your continuing prayers, support and kind expressions over the past year. They are very much appreciated.

As Christmas season 2021 now comes into focus, a few thoughts, if we may:

There is a beautiful Christmas hymn (my personal favorite), "O Come All Ye Faithful," which contains a specific line that sums up Christmas. The specific line is in the third verse: "Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing."

Consider the enormity of that line (and for all the "Church of Nice" types out there, this is why sacred music matters, and not guitar-strumming Christian pop — because it makes you think of God, and not your own feelings).

Anyway, consider the word "Word." The English translation of the Greek "Logos." Saint John speaks of the Logos right off the bat in his Gospel. "In the beginning was the Word [the Logos]."

The ancients understood that all of creation was held together by some force, operated under the influence of some individual reality far greater than just the sum of all creation.

Think, perhaps, of the binding reality that keeps creation in place. Not just the laws of physics, but the law that underlies those laws. What makes the universe exist? And what makes the universe exist in the manner that it exists? — its movements, its operations, its own internal harmony.

From the Son of God.

Merry Christmas — from all of us at Church Militant — to all of you and your loved ones. If Thanksgiving was any indication, lots of people will tell their governors and official scaremongers to shut up, and then hit the road to see their loved ones.

And what is the very first thing they will do? They will hug because they are so excited to see each other. They'll hug so tight, it looks like they'll damage each other's spines. It's always a joy-filled moment that bespeaks a spiritual reality, expressed in a material manner, like the first Christmas.

People hug really hard as though they would pull the entirety of the other person into them, fuse together, form an unbreakable union so intense that they would practically be the same person, almost indistinguishable. That's what you are looking at when you look at the manger: A union of the divine and human.

God "hugging" humanity so closely, so strongly, that in this case, they are fused together inseparably. The God-Man. The Man-God. And this is precisely what is going on when we receive Holy Communion. Our Lord was born of His immaculately conceived Holy Mother and placed by her into a feeding trough.

December distortions.

December normally is a month when the Marxist media trots out more important distortions than any other month because they produce zillions of stories about Our Blessed Lord that distort the truth about Him. In short, they distort the Divine.

This year, however, they have ramped up the distortion game — this time against democracy, claiming Biden won, to which you have to say: "Well, if you're willing to lie about Jesus, why wouldn't you lie about Joe?"

In the case of Our Lord, they are lies in the negative, detracting from His divinity. In the case of Joe, they are lies in the positive, claiming he won. He did not.
