While I can't believe sack of shit authorities, I would debate that one on a statistical basis. We know one could get it several times in a short succession and it was more viral (I think so anyway). Just from this you might get more deaths per capita.

The rest of the hoax was just a pretence to make money. Once pattern emerged and some people understood how extra money can be made, the did just that.

Big maybe is that if USA, in fact, was involved in Wuhan experiments (or not but CIA knew scope of experiments there) it was safer not to talk about "know how" till situation clarifies.

I am more and more convinced that real patriarchy can't exist in the present cultural climate. Its not dead its just dormant. You can't make decisions that may not be in her interest but which are in the overall family interest -that would be abuse- but you should make decisions that are not in your interest but are in the overall family interest. This is just too asymetrical.

They and Columbia House used to do that "15 CDs for 1 penny!" bait-and-switch trap back in the 1990s.

I joined one of them at 12 or 13, and received numerous CDs. When it came time to pay for the ones that weren't free, including all the "monthly selection" CDs they'd automatically send once a month if you didn't return the card declining it, the bill was pretty high.

...and my mom beat me to the mail that day.

She got me out of it easily enough by calling them and telling them I was a minor and couldn't legally sign a contract.

But she took away a lot of my CDs, which I never got back.

I don't know how she missed the "Use Your Illusion" both I and II CDs from Guns N' Roses, though. Heh.
