This is a question that is extremely nuanced. Iran is a terrorism shit hole. They have funded the entire region for terrorism. The alternative to that is wiping them out
Iran's current apparatus really needs to be demolished. That is a completely separate issue to expansionism, etc.
People are conflating multiple foreign issues. It's entirely possible to acknowledge that status quo of an unconstrained evil Iran and foreign expansionism as two separate issues

But it's quite clear that the US expansionism can't go on forever without them answering. If it's not Iran, it will be the next occasion.
There's a good old tradition of how wars are prevented, and that's by people countering the aggression of their own side. So, in principle, it falls on the Iranians to counter Iranian aggression, and on the Americans to counter their own. I believe it's a road worthy of following, even if its chances are slim.

Not to mention Russia is already largely depleted from their war and it would be a challenge for Russia to fight 12+ enemies at once.
China had a freakout from just tarrifs. Their economy would completely implode if they joined a world war. Everyone would stop trading with them. Their populace would revolt overnight with no work.
India is not hostile to most countries other than some in the region like Pakistan.
Most middle eastern countries would not join or if they tried they'd get obliterated.

@adam-l Iran is both years away and not with both being the truth. Creating a physics package for enriched uranium is trivial. Hell, we didn't even test one before dropping a U bomb on Japan. They could have easily build everything they needed into parts and then just waited until the enriched fuel was ready, They would be simultaneously be not working on the bomb but on the brink too. It comes down to enrichment, which is why that is what everyone has been talking about lately.
