@Typo-MAGAshiv meant to add, in the early 70s Honda sold a couple model with a 2 cylinder motorcycle engine. It was tiny, often called a roller skate. One of the teachers at my high school drove one, and occasionally groups of kids would prank her by picking it up and moving it, sometimes where it would be difficult to drive back out from normally.

@Typo-MAGAshiv the first generation Civic was groundbreaking in many ways. Great package of economy, reliability, and fun to drive, everything American car manufacturers insisted was impossible to deliver and that American car buyers would reject.
The CVCC or controlled Vortex Combustion Chamber engine exceeded strict new emissions standards for 1975 models, WITHOUT a catalytic converter. Therefore it could run on leaded or unleaded gas, a huge plus when the Arab oil embargo hit.

@MentORPHEUS There were still some on the road when I started driving (not a lot), and people were making fun of them by that time.
