@SeasonedRP

That worked out great in Cambodia, didn't it? It's never worked that way anywhere

On that note, how is Late Stage Capitalism working out?

For America, Britain, Germany, France?

Using regulatory and legislative capture, the 0.01% class uncoupled their own capital enterprises, markets, and financial sectors from natural corrective market forces, enshittifying everything they touch into wealth transfer and concentration engines and leaving average folks like us quibbling over distractions they carefully manufacture.

@Typo-MAGAshiv

Is there even one of those yet?

Duh... one emerged fully formed across the entire internet within an hour of the shot. It was deliberately right coded, and the American Right obligingly glommed onto it hard, and thanks to the Primacy Effect, manifest strong resistance to any and all challenges to it, even the most individually implausible and outright absurd details.

The FBI and the President still operate in "Our story and we're sticking to it!" mode.

@Typo-MAGAshiv A Red Herring. The Palestinians are categorized as both a population and an ethnicity by the UN and others for purposes of upholding their collective territorial and personal rights.

Demanding that they pass some manner of racial purity test to qualify for basic human rights belongs to a certain ideology that I'm not on board with. Hint, it includes a Z.

No way in hell would murdering him be in their interests. No way in hell is it in the interest of any foreign power. They'd be simultaneously committing an act of war and a war crime.

When has that ever stopped them? When have they ever gotten held accountable? Look at the USS Liberty. American Patriots and even service members give them a total pass and continue on defending every latest Israeli transgression.

I think he aimed center-mass but hit the neck

I fully agree, but he HIT the neck so let's concentrate on the observed effects of that and how well these fit a 30.06 shot from Tyler's position.

@Typo-MAGAshiv I agree bullets can do seemingly magical things sometimes. (Not like the "Magic bullet" that "shot" Kennedy though -which had no damage).

For those who are not keen on bullets or who live in cucked countries; There are a lot of bullets out there and the hunter has to balance meat damage with stopping power and penetration.

Soldiers are restricted by the Geneva convention to full metal jacket. This is a very poor option for killing but it allows many men to survive battle field injuries that would be fatal with hunter's bullets. FMJ tends to exit as it releases less energy on the target because it is designed to minimally deform and not fragment.

A through hole tends to de-pressurise, so some part of the bullet exiting is my personal preference on all larger animals.

Hydrostatic shock is amazing when you get it right and it drops things a lot colder than a head shot which always thrashes a lot. High fragmentation lends itself to hydrostatic shock better than a deformation bullet. Lead in the pluck just isn't a bother, you were not usually going to eat it anyway. You may get some foreleg damage though. If you really don't like it, then you can use pre fragmented tin. Its faster and flatter and may be even more destructive on meat with more hydrostatic shock. Other than that go for the deformation round, this will be better on a harder target like bear.

A fur hunter on coyotes might prefer a round that totally fragments in the body and causes no exit hole, so he can sell the skins. This is commonly called a varmint round. Some folk use them on deer. They are mustard if you get a smaller deer in the boiler room. They are shite if you hit a larger deer on the shoulder blade. They are not designed for deer and I would not use them on that quarry myself. A man killer might choose them if he could be sure of a front on shot, particularly if shoot through was not a good idea but otherwise I would avoid them in this application.

I like twin cores -a fragmenting frontal core and a harder exiting rear core. I use a standard lead most of the time and I have a steel jacketed pre-fragmented tin one too. Its a a bit heavy on the meat but the steel jacketed rear core always exits doing bonus damage, depressurising chest cavities, and preventing runs.

You need to drive bullets properly. Too hard (like many folk do) and they not only give bad barrel harmonics and over heating but they also can fragment too early not getting to vital organs all the time. A bullet needs to fragment at the intended killing range. Some bullets are unsuitable for longer ranges. Mushrooming deformation bullets need to be driven hard enough, especially copper ones. Anyone buying poor ammunition or making ammunition poorly may not get the performance he set out to. This is particularly the case if a guy ties to load subsonic in a 30 cal. Most ammunition just won't work as intended in this situation but the shooter will be a bit harder to detect.

Most bullets behave well. The better quality bullets behave better. Buying expensive bullets is often overlooked in favour of a high foot poundage load and this is a mistake. Good bullets cost a tiny fraction of your hunt and get you more meat and more animals. Even good bullets do whacky stuff sometimes.

I have on a couple of occasions shot small deer with my preferred high end twin cores and been mystified as to what happens when a bullet hits the backbone. You can go from a broadside to raking the entire animal and no exit (and a ton of green goo if you were dumb enough to open it up not take the quarters). The bullet effectively turns 90 degrees and runs down the spine. How this is within the laws of physics is quite amazing but I think it must be it gets a series of deflections.

It is totally possible that a round would not exit from a neck shot, particularly if a rainbow loving person didn't choose ideal ammunition.

@Typo-MAGAshiv Academia has always tripped over itself in its rush to distinguish Marxism from Nazism when perceptive students notice that the two are essentially the same thing, and does so by making hairsplitting, immaterial distinctions. It is amusing, though, to watch those untrained in economics try to explain the difference. The only important factors are that in each, the state controls the means of production and censors and suppresses viewpoints and behavior the state opposes. That makes them equivalent, like you say.

"But, but, Marxists want to control the means of production to help the working classes, not to oppress them, so that makes it way different from Nazism." Uh huh. That worked out great in Cambodia, didn't it? It's never worked that way anywhere.

@Typo-MAGAshiv

The differences between Nazis and Soviets were minute. You make them sound like kindred spirits, even allies. Yet 27 MILLION Russians got killed fighting the Nazis tenaciously on the Eastern Front. Hitler might well have prevailed had he not put so many resources into pushing toward Moscow.

While their nationalism was important to them, so too was their socialism, including seizing the means of production. Again, leftist, almost even communist

Here's where your understanding goes definitionally wrong. Perhaps by conflating, opposite of me, modern incarnation of American Right = must lie on far left of spectrum!

Nazis stand on a far right position of Fascism. Unlike Marxist Leftists who want to seize the means of production from the Oligarch class and spread it through and thus empower the Working Class, Fascism works by FUSING the corporate sector and means of production TO the state, toward consolidating state legal/legislative power and economic power and control into a hard right entity with full control over the Working Class masses. They demand loyalty of the workers to the all powerful State, and enforce this with ruthless and brutal state force.

You are missing how much the same is happening in American politics now- fusion of the Oligarch corporate class with the state, and hard right suspension of the Constitutional protections of the masses from concentration of power which our Founding Fathers wisely spread out and separated.

just repeating the lies taught to you by your leftist education systems

You here are repeating the Neocon lies that worked well on the cohort including my Boomer Dad, who would literally SCREAM "Filthy commie SCUM!!!" at the TV whenever a Soviet athlete placed in an Olympics competition. Us kids would think from the other room, "Jeez, Dad- way to completely miss the entire spirit of the Olympics!"

I see you expressing a "Right Good, Left BAD" mental distinction, that runs on emotion and well meaning patriotism, but is not connected to the rational categorizing and analytical mental functions. That's a hook that Fascists knowingly exploit.

@MentORPHEUS the people calling themselves "Palestinians" aren't those people you're talking about. Those people have been exterminated and bred out over the centuries, primarily by the Arab Muslims who now call themselves Palestinians.

Iran is about the only country in that area with their original ethnicity (Iranians aka Persians). The original Egyptians, Jordanians, Syrians, etc were all exterminated and bred out by conquering Arab Muslims.

@adam-l

1) We conquered it, and it's in our interest to keep what we've conquered.

If you identify yourself as such, you legitimize indiscriminately killing you

How do you figure? Even if the US and any native tribes were at war, I'm a civilian and therefore not a legal target.

And again, they can have full citizenship and participate in everything that I do, and receive preferential treatment over everyone else including blacks when it comes to getting government jobs.

Welcome to the 5th Gen Warfare Tribe.

Given that we are experiencing rapid changes in our culture, it made sense to have a place to track the populist movements / battles as they occur, and not necessarily under the banner of politics.

For instance, Gamergate, Occupy Wallstreet, Maga Movement, and now the Wallstreet bets have all been "battles" with something in common: They cross political lines and share a common, populist root.

Here we can talk about the greater culture war and discuss the big picture for players and actions.
