The most important thing a man can learn is fear... and how to befriend it.

I don't get that vibe
You must have missed much of recent conversations.
endorsed people... thought he was one of them.

@Lionsmane8 perhaps.
One thing I've observed over the past 20-25 years is that atheists tend to proselytize far more than any religious people.
And that includes Jehovah's Witnesses!

@Typo-MAGAshiv I don't get that vibe, was just pointing out what I think he meant and saying it's a legitimate subject on which to disagree (I happen to share his view on it but that's unimportant to my point). I'm older and learned RP truths through trial and error and from having friends who naturally got it, rather than the reddit site or others. I understand Whisper is a senior figure here, and I find his contributions to be insightful. I haven't read all the various people so don't know who is who in the hierarchy (if there is one) but agreed with most of the endorsed people when this was on reddit, and thought he was one of them.

@SeasonedRP oh, he's quite bright. Do you not know who he is?
But that brightness has led to a need to always be seen as the smartest guy in the room, the guy with all the answers, which is why whenever someone gets the better of him in a discussion, he tries to save face and protect his ego.

@Blackphillip55 Sounds like a deal. If you can't afford living by your own and they pay for everything then they have demands. Sounds like your mother is the man in the family.
Bad side of this kind of deal might be you might come out damaged person. I would say that if that is only recent 'demand' to earn and provide to them that it is fairly OK. You are now adult and man at your age getting hit by hard reality is NOT a bad thing. If you would be treated as future provider at early age then it might damage you. So you see nuances in your story are very important.
As for your mother behaviour [as of now] she does you a favour. You see her for what other women will be like. You better hate her a little bit - it is OK.
As for their demands, you can take that deal since you have no choice [I assume], but know one thing. Once you will be earning it will be your decision what you will do with it. Not like they will be able to force you to give them the money. Technically you could fuck off to other side of India and never see them again.
If you will be willing to help them out, you will have a CHOICE to do it.
If your father is subdued by mother then you don't have a male role model, so make some male friends and learn to make male friends. Part of it, will be getting 'rejected' by other men. Don't worry it is normal.
Your mother could lave family like western sluts, but it seems she keep pushing you. You owe her now, but it is not lifetime commitment and although SHE sets the rules now, YOU will set the rules later.
Don't let her do to you anything, you would REALLY HATE HER for. Learn to respect the work she puts for family, but learn to respect yourself and establish some boundaries. It might be painful, if you didn't do it before, but it will also work for you later when dating.

That's the thing: it wasn't a risk at the time, it was just edgy humor. The grievancemongers hadn't infiltrated comedy at that point - or, if they had, SNL was big enough and sufficiently well-insulated from baseless accusations to get away with it.
