Welcome to The Hub. This is our welcoming tribe dedicated to introducing yourself, meeting new people, and learning about new tribes.
I worked general labor on a construction site one summer. Rather enjoyed the work itself, just bounced off the schedule.
More power to those who want to work that much, but I'm a single dude with no dependents and minimal bills. I've spent most of my adult life living reasonably comfortably on part-time wages. Any employer expecting me to work double that every week as routine simply for more money I don't need can go fishing.
Still couldn't pay me enough to work behind a desk again, though, even with the bum leg.
Having worked both outdoor trades, indoor trades and office jobs, I would 10 out of 10 times take the outdoor job in the Midwest.
That comes with humid, hot summers, cold, sub zero winters, rainy springs.....fall can be nice. I'd choose outside every single time.

@Typo-MAGAshiv We often get "You boys must love your job on lovely sunny days like this. I envy you out in the sun while I am cooped up in my office" (which will be air conditioned as well as simply out of direct sun).
These people seem to be proof that being middle class and working in an office neither makes you smart nor empathic.
