It's absurd, but a lot of what happens in international relations, war as well, is based on emotion rather than logic and planning.

There's a wisdom of older women that just isn't applicable to modern women.
We may talk about TRP in an almost gender vs gender fashion. Yet my Grandmother (1930s) was probably one of the most TRP people I knew, and gave me TRP advice, for my own benefit.
My grandmother DEEPLY understood intergender dynamics. She never tried to warp those for "the sisterhood". She just laid down cold hard TRP truth for us, as boys, ot help us in life.
And now looking back I see that.
So she took 12 years between leaving school and getting a doctorate? What is the state of her finances now?
Has she learned anything useful to a man or his children that would make her a better choice than a younger debt free (and probably less entitled) woman?
Yeah as the lady says. Single 30 year old women are probably not OK these days. Some will be but the odds are against it.
When I first woke up to gender dynamics, and was trying to tease women about their priviledge, I observed that some older women would just STFU. A couple explicitly admitted that they were obscenely priviledged to live a protected life with no responsibility under the care of their husbands, but they just accepted it as a fact of life.
