The Samsung Option: Rigging thousands of personal electronic devices to explode in users' hands.
Yesterday in Lebanon, thousands of pagers, made by a Hungarian shell company under license from Taiwan's Gold Apollo, exploded nearly simultaneously. This caused at least 2 dozen deaths including at least 2 children, and overwhelmed hospitals with hundreds injured, many gravely.
Today, a large number of walkie-talkies, portable radios, and some sources say solar panels did the same thing.
Preliminary amateur sleuth work finds that the shell company is a residential address in Budapest. This plot has Mossad written all over it. Apparently they were able to build in extra circuitry and a small explosive charge. The lithium battery within each device may have accentuated the effects of the explosive, but the blasts that got unleashed were not typical of lithium battery explosions.
The attack was supposed to target members of Hezbollah, but like many such attacks under this pretense, harmed a large number of innocent bystanders, and also many staff members of hospitals who are required to carry pagers not smart phones. Interestingly, one hospital NOT so affected was the American hospital where all the pagers got replaced the day before in the name of security upgrades.
I think this was an October Surprise that the perpetrator couldn't wait till October to launch. Just watch, American warships and American warplanes and American ground troops will get pulled into this. Iran will get involved, and so will Russia and China.
Perilous times. Will America the superpower dog allow itself to get wagged? The next several days have a lot of peril hanging over them. The Doomsday clock has never gotten this close to midnight.
Can people, and I mean all people in all nations, trust personal electronic devices ever again?
Side note, waaay back in the 80s, there was a movie with a plot point where a Bad Boy in a juvenile prison collected chemical fertilizer from his assignment in the prison garden and with this rigged a bully's giant 80s Boom Box to explode next to his head.

What's Happening: In a pitch deck that has surfaced since the initial story broke out, Cox Media Group (CMG), a digital marketing outfit based out of Atlanta, Georgia, was spotted touting “the power of voice” in a pitch. In it, they outlined how they can use AI to collect and analyze voice data from users through more than 470 sources.

- Windows 11 taking screenshots, it definitely is not slowly cooking a frog
It turns out Windows 11 users won't be able to uninstall Microsoft's controversial "Recall" feature after all. Recall is a Copilot+ feature announced in May that essentially takes constant screenshots of your behavior while using operating system, ostensibly for users to easily find previous work.
