I'm not talking about lay people misusing AI or tech.
I'm talking about it's advancements becoming too self aware and autonomous (think robots) or robots and other tech that can very easily be misused by willing individuals or government
It will be a reality at some point
@Vermillion-Rx I just got done on a session with chatgpt doing research for my novel. It is incredible for targeted research questions, specifically the time period, demographics, industry etc.
Of course I'm doing "Trust but verify" on the information it feeds me. For example, my home region in the mid 1800's had big Scottish migration for the fishing industry at certain points of the year.
Alright chatgpt, tell me about these migrant workers, their living conditions, wages, dialect etc etc.
It provides me with the sources so I can verify for myself, and not have to sift through the search results on google.
Essentially I'm getting my research done so much faster than I otherwise would, which is fantastic because that will equate to more time writing (something I will explicitly not use the AI for).
Is it too cynical to judge a tool by the stupidest person that picks it up? I think so. If we did, the saw or the hammer would have been outlawed a very long time ago.

people instead of saying 'I googled x' will say 'ai says'.
For my part, every time I see a forums comment that says "ChatGPT says..." or "I asked Grok, and it said..." or anything similar, I hit the downvote button.

can't remember the number, but ChatGPT broke the record in a few days.
Entry price.
Depending what examples you use.
Hardware is the entry point.
GPT was free (you also often can not not use it), ppl like free and they alredy have tools to use it. People have hardware and watch Taylor Smith's new video in millions, its free.
Better would be to use Idk example of intelligent vacuum cleaner.
Is it any good BTW?

@Typo-MAGAshiv people instead of saying 'I googled x' will say 'ai says'.
Those going by first search result will go by default AI answer. Company is the same, they control the message.
AI is only an iteration of the tools available today.
Those wanting real knowledge will rely on books and libgenesis and video channels of someone with built reputation.
Nevertheless our innate drive to be lazy is being exploited and will continue to be.
It is proverbial tower Babbel were building, or maybe Jericho city.
Whats in it for them? How more money can be made?
Clarey notices that money looks for new outlets to invest.
Why someone would invest ibig bucks in AI doing almost the same thing, but faster?
What is an ultimate goal? How will it change a life of an average person?

I'm nihilistic as I've written on here many times. Not full send, but enough to be numb to however the dominoes fall
I've always marveled at science since I was a child but I've since been fully convinced of the horrors of technology
I will dance with the devil on this one and I will warn everyone every step of the way watching it
