Took myself to an AA meeting last night because Tuesday night into Wednesday was the closest I came to grabbing a drink in the past 10 months.
While I'm not 100% sold on the 12 Step Program, I recognized just being around and hearing people's stories helped rationalize some of the shit I was dealing with.
I've seen a few users mention there's not much RP content on addiction, specifically drugs which is my specialty, I went ahead and made a private tribe for anyone suffering from any form addiction who wants to quit.
For more on what I specifically went through this week: putting down my dog of 13 and a half years. First death I've gone through sober and it opened up Pandora's Box on a ton of shit I guess I never internalized because I masked them with narcotics.
My condolences to you on the passing of your pet dog. Such a loss is one I can sympathize with and it's good to read that you've a group of actual people you can fall back on in these times. Give yourself the time you need to mourn your dogs passing. Take some solace in knowing that all dogs go to heaven. Cats, not so much.

@Kloi yeah that's it. We only step in when it violates site rules, and only then because my lawyer told me what we can't be hosting safely.
They actually requested that we have a little more access for illegal materials
And I'm assuming this is done specifically to cover yall's asses.

@Kloi the entire platform was designed with privacy first in mind. until recently when a few mods requested it, admin weren't even allowed to remove posts from a forum owned by other users (waatgm, etc). They actually requested that we have a little more access for illegal materials and even then we agreed to do so with transparency (logging) and the mods are able to undo our removals if they see fit.

Yahh it's ironic that you essentially start ever meeting by saying, Hi, I'm Kloi and I'm a poly substance abuser.
Maybe, but the one things those meetings did get right is the anonymous part.
