@adam-l I'd say that goes for adults as well. Almost all news coverage is spun one way or another. It's hardly ever just reporting the facts. Lots of emotionally charged language, and subtle insinuations meant to make you riled up - partly to support certain political narratives, and partly to consume more news.
The news media seldom speaks to your intellect, but rather to your endocrine system. If you want to learn something, read a book by someone obsessed by a particular subject. Journalist are not particularly informed, nor particularly intelligent or curious.
Also, "most people are still pretty normal" doesn't make for a good news story. Nothing positive does (which, btw, the world is full of). That part isn't on journalists though, that part is on us.
@Steve2002 I know what you're talking about. It does suck...
One problem is sexualization from a very young age. It doesn't give you space and time to wonder whether Goofy is a dog or a cow.
Sexual rejection can be taken care of with a trip to some third world country, where women are more ... affordable. Intimacy, by cultivating male friendships. Then, sexual intimacy still remains as a problem, but maybe taking care of the other issues helps.
In case you're not aware, replying to posts from the OG Feed page (didn't try the others) seems to be borked. All that shows up is a thick grey line where the reply window should be.
Fortunately we can get around this by opening a direct link to the post in question.
My boss at the warehouse is similar. He's gotten dozens of faculty and staff in hot water over the years for reporting shady shit they've tried to pull. They've organized witch hunts against him multiple times but none of it has ever stuck 'cause he's always done everything strictly by policy and procedure.
That said, he'll never go much further in the organization than he already has. Too many enemies. Seeing the toll dealing with all the bullshit thrown his way has taken on him over the years is one of the primary reasons I've absolutely no interest in moving up in the organization myself.
@adam-l My freind was introduced to message boards at the age of 5. But establishing a basic trust in the goodness of the world, let alone a positive outlook for the future? It's not easy when you get rejected by everyone just looking a bit better than you.

This os not the best I have ever seeen.
The one where plenty of the bitches go to Forrest was better .and was part of an interview witch a chick that runs a witch courses IRL.
@Typo-MAGAshiv I do take an avid interest in politics.
The thing I see increasingly is that there is so much noise and bullshit, seemingly to distract the masses.
People mindlessly following political parties like a football teams, keen to get a "win" over the other side, with no real critical thought into what their beliefs are or what matters to them.
Here in the UK it's particularly frustrating because we get such cultural influence from the US. You have people foaming at the mouth arguing over domestic US politics that have absolutely no bearing or relevance here.
Meanwhile, bills going through the parliament that actually will affect them, slip under the radar or get completely forgotten about.
It's why I largely keep my political views to myself. I stand little to gain from arguing with people about whatever the political hot potato of the day is (which by next week will be replaced with something else). I just keep en eye on relevant politics that affect me.
