Analogies also should have never been removed from standardized testing
The only reason I know about them in a learned context is because I was in a talented and gifted program in elementary school (not a flex or brag, that's just what they put the smarter kids in who were otherwise wasting their time and potential in the normie class lessons) and we had an analogies workshop.
This was all the way back in 3rd grade. They really threw everything at us like having mock legal trials and everything. There is so much in education that could have been more rigorous and valuable but they removed most of anything actually valuable from modern education
