I mean, I knew there were risks when I got married. I didn't realize just what a bad deal for men it really is, but I still freely chose this. You made choices to avoid this, and your government is fixing to assrape you as if you had gotten married all along.

@Typo-MAGAshiv Yeah but when you want kids its an invidious choice. The law should allow men to be the best father they can without facing terrible consequences. We need to fight this not just say "too bad losers"
I cohabit for the daughter I share with my lady. I did this thinking I would be safe I case of a break up and I chose to allow my daughter's mother to freeload off me for my daughter's sake. This position is already a net loss to me. Sex, housework and cooking (some grudging) do not equate in value to a free home and bills and food.
This is not a nice thing to have to write but I will review my position if this is passed as law. Sorry but that is how it is.

Bozza has alerted us to something very serious. The UK government intends to legislate to mean that live in girlfriends can take your house, money, income and pension in the same way that wives can on breakup.
The last time the UK had a labour government they had a consultation about it and decided it would be unfair to legislate in this way. This time they are consulting again. The Fabian Society want this. It will happen if we don't stand up to it.

Fill in the form. Tell them to go to hell. It just might prevent a huge erosion of men's rights. The form does not appear to check up on who you are so just fill it in and tell them to shove it. This would be a huge grab of power by the big state.
Marriage is widely available for those who want it. Those who choose not to marry do so because they do not want the legal consequences. To then suddenly force them on millions of couples is grossly unfair.
Of course it is better personally not to cohabit but many men have chosen to do so for the sake of their children. To make them vulnerable when they have made a choice altruistically would be a gross miscarriage of justice.
