So women can dodge accountability by virtue of not taking something they should have taken (The Lindsey Clancy Defense), and also for taking something they shouldn’t have taken (The Lucy Craig Defense). Needless to say, nobody (least of all an icky MAN), can have control over what a woman ingests or fails to ingest.

I really wish feminists would just pick a lane. Either women are adults with full agency who should be required to accept full responsibility for their actions, or they are not, in which case they should have significant limits on their autonomy.

The situation strikes me as real. I just don't believe it had anything to do with her failing to take her head meds. Females your age with health problems, that don't otherwise hate living, have set dose routines and rarely travel without their prescriptions. You're a kinder man than I, but I can't say I pity her situation with what her wikipedia profile hints at.

This bird rolls with prominent, if not otherwise highly visible, folks among the oligarchs of the western hegemony. More likely than not, someone saw her being locked in an aluminum can for a few hours as an opportunity to give her a long hard dose of the Maduro beam, not unlike the woman in the following scene from "Cat's Eye" (1985). So much so, that if the article can be believed, a woman around your age, who likely only does aerobics, pilates, and running, actually fought others on the plane in a passionate attempt to experience the sweet release of death.

Someone sent a clear message with that and deflecting attention from her getting Maduro beamed as a medical emergency is the only way this makes sense. There's been a lot of that going around for a while. Regardless, while status and fame has its privilege, it always comes with a price. Her sort knew that before they joined the inner ring and eventually everyone has to pay.

Good questions, and presumably relevant. I suspect she’ll be permanently banned from Delta as a matter of course. Whether the rest of the airlines ban her probably depends on what the TSA does… she might just go on the government no-fly list, and the point would become moot.

I actually feel bad for her: I’m sure that none of this was intentional. Nobody ASKS to have psychosis, and getting your meds scrambled when the whole purpose of the meds is to prevent you from getting things scrambled is sort-of a Catch-22.

My point is that if we’re going to excuse her - perhaps with future restrictions commensurate with her condition - then that should apply to everyone equally. But since a person who is not 1) wealthy, 2) famous, 3) reasonably attractive, 4) Caucasian and, most importantly 5) female, would receive a much more deleterious outcome than Ms Blair is likely to receive, we have a problem. Lady Justice is supposed to be blindfolded, but she’s not. Which brings us back to what those outcomes will be.

We know that she’s already gotten a level of kid-gloves treatment that would not be afforded to any of us under identical circumstances, so we’re off to a bad start.

I’m not in favor of the legal system dropping a metaphorical brick on her head because she is who she is. Crushing her wouldn’t serve as reparations for men who get mauled by the system… I would just like to see men get the same treatment.

Until they do, we have to decide whether women are adults and act accordingly.
