if you're actually cold approaching, it means you're going up to strange women, getting their attention, and then trying to open on them.
This always has a high failure rate. Even the best of the best among PUAs rarely got more than 30% success at this.
Here's what worked for me: what a lot of people call a warm approach. I would only approach if a woman gave me decent IOIs. Eye contact plus smile, and especially if she preened in any way (such as adjusting her hair).
This saves a lot of time and effort, and the rejection rate is much lower.
A lot of this stuff is for learning not to waste your time and effort on women who aren't interested. If she shows interest, go for it. If she shows no interest, or worse, disinterest, then you disengage.
